Why Brittany, Livestock and International development?

The poorest region post Second World War, Brittany has experienced strong economic development due to the expansion of farming in recent decades. The region is full of examples of successes and lessons, old and new, individual and collective, from both the private and public sectors. These experiences and lessons have already benefited numerous other regions in the world. We believe many more possibilities exist.

Why another development organization?

Livestock development has proven an effective means of improving the living conditions and incomes of rural populations in many parts of the world. Despite a multitude of public funds, humanitarian/development organizations and experts these opportunities are still largely under-utilised. BRESIAL focuses on fundraising to provide practical methods for peasant farmers to access credit, livestock, technical advice and markets.

What is BRESIAL?

BRESIAL was created by a committed group of people who believe in the development of small farming as a practical and efficient means of reducing poverty. The BRESIAL team devotes their time voluntarily to support these farmers.
